According to a report by the foreign agency Reuters, the Ministry of Health of Japan says that Japan decided to stop using 1.63 million doses of the modern vaccine of Corona after reports of several doses of spoilage.
Takida, in charge of the sales and distribution of Moderna, said it had received reports from several vaccination centers that foreign ingredients were found inside the vaccine’s sealed bottles.
The company says it has decided to suspend the use of the three batches of the vaccine after consulting the Ministry of Health.
Takida said it had informed Moderna about the matter and had “requested an investigation on an urgent basis.”
On the other hand, Moderna said in a statement that “a lot has been reported in Japan.”
“Moderna believes that the manufacturing problem arose in one of the many lines at its manufacturing site in Spain, but so far safety or utility issues have not been identified,” he added.
Without elaborating, he said, “Moderna has stopped this lot of vaccine and the two adjacent lots as a precaution.”
“We have not received any reports of health problems due to external factors,” Katsunobu Kato, a top Japanese government spokesman, told reporters.
