According to sources, relations between Dr. Firdous Ashiq and the Chief Minister’s Office were strained after July 20. Several remarks by the former special assistant, which angered the boss, also made some remarks about the chief minister difficult for Firdous Ashiq Awan.
Firdous Ashiq Awan had also offered to resign three days before the by-election to assure the government in the Sialkot election, but during the by-election, party leaders from Sialkot informed the leadership of Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan’s lack of interest.
Sources further said that three days after winning the by-election, the Chief Minister’s Office had instructed Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan to resign, but Firdous Ashiq Awan tried to get the next assignment by contacting the Prime Minister’s House once before resigning. August 6 is the last day for Firdous Ashiq Awan to resign. Before resigning, Dr. Firdous Ashiq waited for the Chief Minister of Punjab for three hours. Finally, after a brief meeting with the Chief Minister, Dr. Firdous Ashiq resigned.
According to sources, after his resignation, Firdous Ashiq Awan also tried to meet Prime Minister Imran Khan but could not get any significant results in the meeting.
On the other hand, Firdous Ashiq Awan was contacted to take a stand on the internal story, and she said “no comment.”
