According to ARY News, Pakistan’s beloved senior journalist and anchor Arshad Sharif was laid to rest at the H11 cemetery in Islamabad alongside his father and martyred brother, before his funeral prayers were offered at the Shah Faisal Mosque. It was done, Khatib Faisal Masjid Professor Dr. Qari Muhammad Ilyas led the funeral prayer.
Thousands of people belonging to different walks of life including political and social leaders, the journalist community participated in the funeral prayer and burial. Very emotional and pathetic scenes were seen on this occasion and people kept crying while bidding farewell to their beloved journalist.
The four sons of Shaheed Arshad Sharif participated in the funeral prayer and burial of their father wearing national flag badges on their clothes.
On the occasion of the funeral prayer and then the funeral, strict security arrangements were made throughout the route including the Faisal Mosque and the cemetery.
Leaders of various political parties including PTI leader Shibli Faraz, Azam Swati, and Murad Saeed, former prime minister, and PML-N leader Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, PP leader Faisal Karim Kundi also participated in the funeral prayer. Thousands of people from the field of life participated.
