According to the SBP, bank deposits increased by Rs 2285 billion to Rs 19,343 billion in the first ten months of this year.
Compared to September 2021, Rs 586 billion was withdrawn from banks in October 2021. In September 2021, bank deposits reached the highest level in the country’s history at Rs 19,829 billion.
The central bank said that bank deposits fell from Rs 19,829 billion to Rs 19,343 billion in October.
Earlier, the State Bank of Pakistan said bank deposits had declined by Rs 956 billion in July 2021, while the volume of loans had declined by Rs 118 billion to just over Rs 8,000 billion.
Compared to April 2021, bank deposits increased by Rs. 394 billion in May 2021, and in May this year, bank deposits reached a record level of 17,955.
The SBP said that in the first five months of the current financial year, the bank deposits have increased by Rs 870 billion, while the bank deposits have increased from Rs 17,085 billion in January this year to more than Rs 17,955 billion in May 2021. ۔
