He said that water and beverages should be consumed as much as possible in this season, and consumption of fruits and vegetables should also be substantially increased. Also, drink ORS and lemon water to make up for the lack of salt in the body.
Professor Khalid Shafi said that if you feel unwell from the heat, take a bath immediately and turn the fan towards you to reduce your body temperature. Also, keep ice cubes on your neck, armpits, knees, and back in extreme temperatures.
Regarding children’s health, he said that mothers should breastfeed their children and, after six months, give them solid foods and complete a vaccination course.
He further said that they should avoid going out on hot days as much as possible. Try to handle outdoor activities before sunrise in the morning or the evening. Use sunscreen, sunglasses, and a cap when going out.
