According to a statement issued by the NADRA spokesperson, the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Imran Khan, inaugurated the world’s first state-of-the-art ‘Pak Identity’ app developed in the IT Lab of the National Database and Registration Authority.
After developing this app, Pakistan became the first country in the world to introduce S technology, thanks to which citizens will be able to create identity cards at home with the help of a smartphone.
According to NADRA, the state-of-the-art technology will enable the identification card program to acquire live biometrics (fingerprints) on mobile and verification.
Applicants will be able to take fingerprints with the help of their smartphone camera and be able to scan and upload photos and other documents.
Chairman NADRA Tariq Malik hoped that obtaining fingerprints through mobile is the beginning of a new era that could revolutionize many sectors of the economy.
Prime Minister Imran Khan appreciated the innovative idea of NADRA Chairman Tariq Malik’s mobile app and said, “You have completed the development of the app in a very short time and made Pakistan the first country in the world to introduce this technology.”
Paying homage to NADRA’s software engineers, the Chairman said, “All these efforts are an important step towards realizing the Digital Pakistan Vision of the Prime Minister of Pakistan.
He said that NADRA was playing its full role in the Prime Minister’s vision of Digital Pakistan and was working day and night to introduce such state-of-the-art facilities.
Tariq Malik further said that Pakistanis living abroad could also submit an online application for renewal or change of identity card on the mobile app introduced by NADRA. At the same time, citizens will also get this facility at the click of a button.
Chairman NADRA said that all the sectors which require biometric verification, such as e-governance, e-commerce, various financial inclusion programs such as the Ehsas program, Successful Youth program, etc., can avail the full benefits of this facility. You can provide your identity information at home and complete all necessary procedures through biometric verification.
It is to be noted that earlier, NADRA has provided a web facility for online identity card creation. With the help of which thousands of people applied for identity cards, Renewals and obtained identity cards at home.
According to NADRA, this app will be linked to https://id.nadra.gov.pk/ web portal. Additionally, Android users can download the PAK IDENTITY app from the Google Play Store.
