The Islamabad High Court (IHC) heard the bail plea of the parents of Zahir Jaffer, the main accused in the Noor murder case.
Khawaja Harris read out the confessional statement of Zahir Jaffer before the police and argued that the information recorded by the accused in police custody has no legal status; the idea of the accused must be registered before the magistrate.
Khawaja Harris said that assistance in crime is also intentional and planned; even if the accused’s father knew about the murder and could have stopped the murder by informing the police, this assistance is not a crime.
Upon completing Khawaja Harris’ arguments, the court directed the plaintiff’s counsel to present his arguments on September 21.
“I will take a little more than an hour,” said plaintiff Shah Khawar.
Justice Amir Farooq asked Khawaja Harris if he would like to give counterarguments, to which Khawaja Harris said he would also like to provide counterarguments after the arguments.
