Senator Mushtaq Ahmed introduced a bill further to amend the Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Act 2018, saying that eunuchs were abusing the law in the Senate session.

Federal Minister for Human Rights Shirin Mazari opposed the bill, saying it was not our law but the previous government. However, the Senate chairman said that the invoice could be sent to the committee for discussion; the bill is not being passed, only the committee will discuss it. While sending the bill to the relevant committee, the Chairman Senate said that the bill would go to the committee, talk there, then bring it to the House.

The Anti-Rape Investigation and Case Bill 2021 was also introduced in the House. The opposition opposed the bill introduced by Senator Ali Zafar.

Ali Zafar said that all our laws have failed, why there are incidents of sexual abuse, now our direction will be quite successful in protecting women, I request that this bill be passed today.

However, Sherry Rehman said there is a gap in this bill, and it cannot be passed in 90 days; now, this bill will be given only by joint sitting. Azam Swati said it was suggested that the bill be referred to the relevant standing committee.

Senator Raza Rabbani said that Ali Zafar’s bill is outstanding, but it can be misused; I will take it to Article 70 and see what he says.

Ali Zafar said that I reject the logic presented by Raza Rabbani from the extensive literature; nowhere in the constitution is it written that the bill cannot be re-introduced in the Senate. Therefore, there should have been no problem in making further amendments to the statement. Later, the chairman of the Senate postponed the bill.

A bill was also tabled in the House today to enact a law to ensure the safety of journalists. Saleem Mandviwala introduced the Protection of Journalists Bill 2021. However, khan announced his opposition to the bill.

Senator Shibli Faraz said that the House has already passed such a bill, there is no point in bringing the bill after it has already been given, Chairman Senate Sadiq Sanjrani said Demanding a vote on the nose, the members also made a fuss, after which the chairman of the Senate referred the bill to the relevant committee.
