According to details, during Question Hour in the Senate today, Senator Mushtaq Ahmed said that 28,723 people in the country had undergone gender reassignment, according to statistics.
Senator Mushtaq Ahmed introduced a bill further to amend the Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Act 2018, saying that eunuchs were abusing the law in the Senate session.

However, Sherry Rehman said there is a gap in this bill, and it cannot be passed in 90 days; now, this bill will be given only by joint sitting. Azam Swati said it was suggested that the bill be referred to the relevant standing committee.
Senator Raza Rabbani said that Ali Zafar’s bill is outstanding, but it can be misused; I will take it to Article 70 and see what he says.
Ali Zafar said that I reject the logic presented by Raza Rabbani from the extensive literature; nowhere in the constitution is it written that the bill cannot be re-introduced in the Senate. Therefore, there should have been no problem in making further amendments to the statement. Later, the chairman of the Senate postponed the bill.
A bill was also tabled in the House today to enact a law to ensure the safety of journalists. Saleem Mandviwala introduced the Protection of Journalists Bill 2021. However, khan announced his opposition to the bill.
