According to a report by the French news agency, Google has announced a new policy for advertisers, publishers, and YouTube creators.
Under the policy, they will not be able to use these platforms to share content that disagrees with the scientific consensus on the existence and causes of climate change, nor will they be able to make money from e-content.
Google says the policy change is in line with the company’s efforts to promote sustainable practices and combat climate change.
Fadi Quran, director of the NGO Awaaz Campaign, said those who provided false information about climate change had confused public opinion, and YouTube had been one of their favorite platforms. He also called on other online platforms to follow Google’s lead.
