According to details, an alleged robbery took place at a local bank branch in Pindi Bhattian tehsil of Hafizabad district of Punjab, in which hackers stole more than Rs 5.8 million from an ATM.
Bank sources said that the hackers hacked the tray of 5,000 notes from the device. When the machine was disconnected, the ATM has closed automatically.
Sources said that an alert was also issued from the head office, the bank guard reached the machine, but the device was found empty, a case of the incident has been registered, police are investigating.
According to bank sources, the bank’s ATM has been sealed off after the incident while police have started questioning the staff and other people.
