Clear Tik Tok has emerged as a globally popular app with more than a billion active users. Still, Tik Tok has been criticized for not providing a proper content monetization program for creators.

Sandy Hawkins, the firm’s general manager for North America, told tech website The Verge that the program would be launched in the United States in June and that selected creators would receive 50 percent of advertising revenue.

“We will start exploring our first advertising revenue sharing program with creators, public figures and media publishers,” said Byte Dance, a Chinese company.

“We are focusing on solving the problem of monetization in the available markets so that the creators can be made aware of their importance and the rewards they get on tik tok,” he said.

In this regard, Tik Tok says that only accounts with at least one lakh subscribers will be eligible for the program’s first phase.
