The Election Commission wrote in the letter that the Election Commission wants immediate local body elections in Sindh, and the Election Commission wants to fulfill its constitutional duty.
In the letter, it was written that the Sindh government should submit its response by October 31, when can the Sindh government make other arrangements including security, the second phase of local elections in Karachi and Hyderabad is to be held.
It should be noted that on October 18, at the request of the government, the Election Commission announced the postponement of the municipal elections in Karachi for the third time.
The decision to postpone the elections was taken in a meeting presided over by the Chief Election Commissioner. In the meeting, the letter of the federal government was reviewed in which the federal government apologized for providing security personnel for the local elections, while the Sindh government demanded 16 thousand security personnel.
