According to Arab media reports, the Saudi Food and Drug Authority posted information on the social networking site Twitter about the appropriate amount of paracetamol. It warned that food shortages could be dangerous.
The SFDA wrote on Twitter that paracetamol, a drug used for children, would only benefit if used properly.
The Food and Drug Authority says paracetamol is also used in medicines called penadol, fevadol, adol, and tannol, which should be used in the form of tablets, syrups, and drops for very young children.
The authority directed that the medicine for children and adults should be used only on the advice of a doctor and in the same amount as prescribed; otherwise, there may be harm.
