Playing for Portugal in the World Cup qualifiers, Cristiano Ronaldo broke the world record of 109 goals set by former Iranian footballer Ali Da’i by scoring his 110th international goal against Ireland on Wednesday.
Portugal won the match against Ireland 1-2, Portugal captain Cristiano Ronaldo scored both goals, and thus Ronaldo became the highest-scoring player in international men’s football.
Ronaldo completed 110 international goals in 180 matches, while Ali Daei scored 109 goals in 149 matches.
