An open policy for examinations has been introduced by all 9 education boards including Punjab

All 9 education boards across Punjab including Lahore have introduced an open policy for examinations. Under the policy, the condition of less than 50% marks for division improvement has been abolished. Now the students with more than 50% marks will also be able to retake the exam. Earlier, only 4 opportunities were available for the students to take division improvement and supplementary exams. The Punjab Board Committee of Chairman has issued a formal notification of the new policy regarding the examinations. The said policy will be effective from the 2019 examinations. Annually 9 lakh students take the exam under the Lahore Board, while more than 40 lakh students take the exam every year under the education boards across Punjab.
